Day 3 — Slow Mornings & Small-Town Discoveries

Morning: One Last Taste of Mountain Life

Before heading home, give yourself one more slow mountain morning.

If you loved your walk along the Midland Trail, return for another loop and soak in the views one last time. If you're feeling adventurous, use the morning to explore a different section of the trail system and discover a new perspective of Buena Vista and the surrounding Collegiate Peaks.

When you're ready for (the best) coffee (in town), make your way to Veya. Settle in with your favorite drink, enjoy a relaxed breakfast, and savor the kind of unhurried morning that's increasingly rare in everyday life.

Midday: Explore Historic Main Street

Before leaving town, spend some time wandering through Buena Vista's historic downtown and the newly developed South Main district.

This is one of our favorite ways to experience the town's character. Browse local boutiques, art galleries, and independently owned shops. Strike up conversations with friendly locals, and enjoy the slower pace that makes Buena Vista feel so different from Colorado's larger resort destinations.

Take your time. Pop into a shop that catches your eye. Grab another coffee. Find a bench and simply watch the town move around you.

Before You Go

One of the things we love most about Buena Vista is that no two visits ever feel exactly the same.

If you find yourself already planning a return trip, there are plenty of adventures waiting for next time. Spend a day fly fishing one of the area's renowned rivers, book a family float trip, experience world-class whitewater rafting, explore miles of hiking and mountain biking trails, soak in nearby hot springs, discover hidden swimming holes, or simply take one of the many scenic drives that wind through the surrounding mountains.

The best hidden gems are rarely experienced in a single weekend.

Buena Vista is one of those places that keeps calling you back.
